Packaging Tips for Air Freight
Follow these guidelines to protect your shipment from damage during handling and transit to the Caribbean.
Use Sturdy, New Boxes
Choose double-walled corrugated boxes rated for the weight inside. Avoid reusing damaged or water-stained boxes.
Cushion Every Item
Fill empty space with bubble wrap, foam, or packing paper so nothing shifts during loading and flight.
Wrap Fragile Items Individually
Wrap breakables separately in bubble wrap and keep them away from box edges and corners.
Seal With Strong Tape
Use pressure-sensitive packing tape across all seams in an H-pattern. Avoid string, masking, or duct tape.
Distribute Weight Evenly
Place heavier items at the bottom and balance weight across the box so it doesn't tip during handling.
Label Clearly on Two Sides
Write the destination address and your contact info on at least two sides in case a label is damaged.
Double-Seal Liquids
Place liquid containers in sealed plastic bags inside a leak-proof secondary container before boxing.
Mark Fragile Boxes
Clearly mark 'FRAGILE' and use up-arrows on boxes containing delicate items so handlers orient them correctly.
